Job overview

An exciting new opportunity is available as part of the expanding Research & Innovation Funding Development Team. The Funding Development Team support Nottingham researchers with research grant applications, as well as assisting Nottingham Hospitals Charity with the coordination of their research funds.

This role will involve the administration of the research grant application portfolio, including organising meetings, dealing with enquiries, administrative tasks and supporting the team with data management, input, coordination and reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join an exciting and innovative department. Attention to detail and communication are key for this post and you will be responsible for planning your own workload.

Main duties of the job

Data management for the Nottingham Hospitals Charity Research funding.

Keep accurate and timely managed files and filing systems. Storage of staff and/or patient data and source records.

To assist with the collection and input of all data onto DOCUMAS, the R&I Research Management System, and other relevant IT system(s) in a timely manner to assist with reporting.

To arrange meetings notifying attendees of the appointment as required, including circulation of relevant information.

To assist in dealing with queries received by the Funding Development Team, resolving queries where appropriate or referring messages accurately to the relevant member of the team.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level standard (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Evidence of continuous Personal Development.

Desirable criteria

  • Qualification in IT/computing (i.e. NVQ, A level, BTEC or equivalent).
  • Strong numeric skills.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience of information handling and analysis gained in a work environment.
  • Experience of working within the NHS or similar organisation with an understanding of Department of Health & Social Care reporting processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and especially Excel.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of information management within the field of research.
  • Proven experience in an administration role.
  • Experience of training and coaching others in the interpretation of information.
  • Substantial experience of writing and running data reports in MS Excel, MS Access and relational databases.
  • Substantial experience of data management.

Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
