We have a new opportunity available for a contract full stack AWS Node.js developer with Elastic search experience. This position has come about due to continued digital push of Cromwell Tools. You’ll be joining a very talented digital team, building out a new product utilising the latest software engineering tools and techniques.

This is a remote position with the option of working in the office in our Digital department. We understand that remote working is not for everyone, so working on-site would be welcomed if you choose.

Are you a positive, capable node.js Developer with experience in Elastic search, ideally in an e-commerce setting. You could make an impact working on our B2M (Business to Many) web portal.

Our new Developer will play a pivotal role in product development, collaborate with Developers, Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure the custom development objectives are being met.

As a Developer you will act as a critical point of reference for website and live implementation technologies to ensure smooth operation and Agile deployments that meet the needs of our business. You’ll predominantly use Node.js and Elastic but will be exposed to a diverse tech stack including serverless technologies, React, Redux, CSS, HTML, various cloud services, Rest APIs, Postgres.

Role Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible advising, implementing and improving all aspects of Elastic search
  • As a developer you will collaborate with the product owner to help define and deliver software requirements for programming effort. This may include helping and writing specification for other developers.
  • You will design, implement (Node.js code) for Front End & Back End parts of the application
The Candidate Must Have Knowledge Of The Following
  • Industry experience with Elastic search development
  • Industry experience with Node.js full stack development ideally e-commerce.
  • Experience with SQL, experience with Postgres is desirable
  • Experience in Agile Software Development
  • Experience with CSS, component library etc
  • Experience with React and Redux Web framework
  • Version control such as Git

  • Enjoy creating simple, effective, efficient, performant and clean code to power new product features, as well as refactoring and improving existing code
  • Is comfortable collaborating on the design and user experience
  • Cares about shipping high quality products
  • Can take ideas and run with them
  • Good understanding of agile development and continuous integration/continuous delivery
  • Has experience of building the infrastructure that quickly identifies and surfaces production issues that impact their users
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using AWS Lambda functionality
  • Experience using AWS DynamoDB
  • Experience using AWS Cognito and user groups
  • Experience with Serverless frameworks
  • SQL
  • Contributions to open source community (e.g. highly ranked GitHub repos, technical blogs)
  • Industrial Supplies domain experience
