As our organisation grows, we now have a requirement for a Supported & Extra Care Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team on a full-time basis working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As a Supported & Extra Care Manager, you will be responsible for Care and Homeless Support and Housing related Services.

Reporting to the Head of Housing Services, you will lead the operations and management of the services, ensuring they are of high quality, people-centred and inclusive.

You will ensure the Extra Care Service is safe, effective and well-led and continually responds to changing customer and community needs, whilst meeting the Care Quality Commission key lines of enquiry (KLOEs).

Additionally, You Will
  • Lead and motivate staff and maintain and develop operational teams, managing workloads and performance
  • Maintain the growth and development of services and work closely with all external agencies
  • Ensure compliance at all times with all relevant legislation, in addition to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Quality Assessment Framework for Support Services
About You

To join us as a Supported & Extra Care Manager, you will need:
  • At least three years’ management experience within housing, care and/or support or a related field working with complex needs
  • Experience of managing change
  • Experience of meeting funding requirements and deadlines e.g. tender/bid writing
  • Experience of preparing, monitoring and controlling budgets
  • Experience of managing staff in dispersed locations
  • Inspection and service improvement experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of tenancy agreements and housing and anti-social behaviour legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the ‘Fundamental Standards’
  • The ability to develop and implement monitoring and administration systems
  • The ability to manage services and complaints for people with complex needs in a sensitive and non-patronising way
  • The ability to write clear, concise reports and present information to a range of audiences
  • Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office applications such as word, excel, publisher and outlook
  • A degree and/or equivalent job specific qualifications
  • Access to a vehicle and possession of a full, clean driving licence
Experience of managing and taking action in response to potential safeguarding alerts would be beneficial, as would experience of fulfilling the role of Registered Manager/Responsible Individual with the CQC.
