Food Hall Manager

£40,000 (DOE)

Predominantly Monday - Friday but there may be occasional weekends to suit business needs

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Food Hall Manager to work at one of our ESS prestigious contracts. This is a position where you would be responsible for providing great service to our clients across multiple brands within our newly refurbished Food Hall in Chatham, whilst enjoy getting the best out of a team of 30 and drawing satisfaction from managing, training, and supporting the team.

ESS has been a market leader in the Defence and Government Services sectors for over 40 years. As well as providing quality catering, retail and leisure services, we offer a portfolio of superior and sustainable soft services, including hotel, cleaning, waste management, security, event support and reception services.

This role will be located at The Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) at Brompton Barracks, who provide a wide range of training in all engineering disciplines that are fundamental to the Royal Engineers. Events at this site include weddings, royal visits, military functions and daily hospitality events.

Main Responsibilities

Other Responsibilities Will Include
  • Complete action plans following client satisfaction surveys
  • Promote the unit and act as a Compass Advocate at all time
  • Ensure all services are delivered to the correct standard and look to up sell to increase revenue where possible
  • Analyse, monitor, and manage GP whilst ensuring cost and sales records are accurately inputted and maintained
  • Complete/adjust labour schedule in line with sales
  • Analyse and effectively manage all in unit costs
  • Ensuring consistent Brand Standards across all units
  • Ensure budgets are understood and achieved ensure all costs are managed effectively within budget

Ideal Candidate

As the Food Hall Manager, you need to be commercially aware, with the presence and personality to influence the day-to-day business, you"ll maximise the performance of your team. Leading by example and setting high standards, you"ll enhance sales and provide our customers with great service.

You will need to build an excellent relationship with the client making sure their needs as well as contractual needs are met to the highest standard possible.
  • Previous Multi Brand management experience.
  • Experienced in working in a fast paced environment.
  • Retail and commercial skills are a must.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Motivated to deliver consistent high standards of food and service quality.
  • Friendly and approachable, with the management skills to develop and manage a team.
  • A "can-do" attitude.
  • Computer literate.
