Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub.

AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its Defence Helicopter Flying school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Description/Overall purpose of the Job

(Fleet Planner - , Shawbury - UK Military Flying Training System (Rotary Wing)
Reports to Technical Services Manager)

  • Responsible for Part M / Part CAMO long term (contract length) planning and forecasting requirements to support MFTS aircraft scheduled maintenance inputs and repair and overhaul of components.

The main responsibilities of the post holder will be:

  • To ensure that all appropriate legislative and Company Procedures are adhered to in order to ensure that the Company remains compliant and aircraft airworthy;
  • To create, maintain and review the long term maintenance and repair and overhaul plans and forecasts;
  • To review and monitor the MFTS and wider AH global fleet utilisation and product improvements / customer irritants.
  • Performance of other duties as detailed by the Technical Services Manager.


The post holder would ideally have the following Knowledge and Skills:

ESSENTIAL

  • Use of Technical Records, Planning & Maintenance related software applications;
  • Comprehensive use of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Thorough understanding of Part M / Part CAMO & Part 145 and corresponding MAA regulations;
  • In depth knowledge of Maintenance Programs, Technical Publications and the wider AH global fleet.

DESIRABLE

  • Computer programming / SQL.

We require the post holder to have the following Education, Qualifications or special training:

ESSENTIAL

  • Formalised Part M / Part CAMO & Part 145 Training Course;
  • Human Factors training.
  • Recognised Planning / Project management training

DESIRABLE

  • Gen Fam on EC135 T3H / BK 117 D2

The post holder should have the following experience:

ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in a Part M Planning role essential.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous experience in a fleet management role advantageous.
  • 10 years experience.


Key performance indicators:

  • Assist in maintaining aircraft availability levels of >98% at Shawbury (including deployments)

Other requirements:

TRAVEL

  • Travel between AHUK sites including Oxford and RAF Valley
  • Occasional European travel may be required
