Airbus in Broughton, North Wales is looking for an Industrial System Engineer (ISE).

Context & Environment:

Airbus is undergoing a significant Digital Transformation to benefit from the latest advances in new technologies and targets a major efficiency breakthrough across the Program and Product Lifecycle. Join the adventure to invent and implement Industry 4.0 @ Airbus!

In this context, you will join the Industrial System Design and Modelling department. Within this department, we define, develop and mature industrial solutions to address Aircraft programme challenges (deliver on-time and quality, reduce development and production lead time, cost of Product & Process development & all recurring costs).

We provide New Processes, Methods and Tools (including Design, Modelling and Simulation) to improve and predict our industrial performance.

We work in close link with local ISE in Plants and FALs, collaborating on industrial projects and coaching them to the new Processes, Methods & Tools, in order to grow the Airbus ISE Community.

Your Impact:

  • You will be a catalyst of Change/Change Agent within an international team of Lean & Industrial ISEs to change the ways of working of the Industrial Community.
  • This position will allow you to be a Key Driver of Airbus Industrial Strategy and empowered to Lead Change to influence the Factory of the Future.
  • You will be directly involved in R&T and industrial projects and contribute to the design of the future Airbus industrial systems, to boost our industrial performance.

The principle responsibilities of the role can be summarized as follows:

  • You will contribute to Industrial System Design of Airbus Plants and Final Assembly Lines for future and existing Programs
  • You will support Key industrialization projects with Manufacturing Line Design skills and competences to ensure project outcomes are delivering tangible benefits and long term performance
  • You will evaluate and challenge current and future industrial solutions and give recommendations to Industrial Architects through our innovative digital capabilities
  • You will Develop Manufacturing Line Design ways of working to answer the business priorities.
  • You will increase knowledge and autonomy by coaching Industrial Communities on Industrial System Design & Modelling standards

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Strong background in Manufacturing or Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering with deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Operational experience in the Implementation and Optimization of Industrial Systems (Conception phase, Qualification, Implementation, Management of Production Processes).
  • Proven experience in Industrialization and Shop-Floor execution
  • Solid knowledge of Industrial Performance Management.
  • Autonomy and ability to influence, lead the Change and deal with transformation processes in an international environment.
  • Experience with interpreting Discrete Event or Agent based Models or Model Based System Engineering would be a plus.
  • Negotiation level in English

This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
