We have a great opportunity for a Divisional Fleet Manager to join the Fleet team. The successful person for this role will be required to provide insight, support and specialist knowledge to Regional and Branch Management with regards to the safe and efficient optimisation of the transport fleet. In addition they will be involved in the specification, supply, maintenance and legislative management of transport and Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE).


This role is a National role.


Key responsibilities:


  • To work closely with the Regional Managing Director, and their Regional Directors of branch operations to understand specific transport and MHE operational requirements to ensure equipment meets their needs and adds value to their operations.

  • To provide insight and analysis to support the optimisation and efficient running of the Regional fleet, ensuring that delivered sales are maximised whilst fleet and driver costs are optimised.

  • Identify new lorry / MHE equipment / features within the wider industry which could be cross fertilised into the businesses to improve operational effectiveness, efficiency and / or safety.

  • Work with health and safety to continuously improve the safety features and operational processes and procedures of transport and MHE.

  • Work closely with the Head of Fleet looking at business unit fleet operational costs Maintenance/Fuel/Hire etc. to drive transport efficiency within the businesses.

  • Work closely with and support the administrative team to ensure full compliance of O licence standards and procedures.

  • Build on existing supplier relationships to ensure a collaborative approach to cost reduction and improved service and efficiencies

  • To manage and provide support and guidance to the Fleet Business partners

  • Review with Regional Directors branches showing exceptional operational costs providing trend analysis and guidance on development and efficiency opportunities.


What we are looking for:


  • National CPC Holder.

  • Worked within a Fleet environment with experience in a multi site operation.

  • Good financial awareness

  • Experience of MHE (forklifts/Tailifts).

  • Self motivated with the ability to work remotely and autonomously.

  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent problem solving skills.

  • Able to negotiate and influence key stakeholders.

  • Enthusiasm for your profession.

  • Ability to present and distil complex and technical information in a simple way.

  • Commitment and personal accountability.
