We have a fantastic opportunity for an Accountant to join our Plumbing & Heating Division based in Crick, who specialises in Management Accounts. This role will suit someone that is already qualified or newly qualified in ACCA or Cima.


As a Management Accountant you will provide timely and accurate management accounts for our P&H division & brands, assisting the senior management in decision making and provide effective financial control. You will be responsible for the month end Management Accounts process for the P&H branches, ensuring compliance, efficiency and delivery of a robust set of management accounts. Taking ownership of specified control account reconciliations, including assessment of balance sheet risk and opportunity associated with these. On top of this, you will have previous experience of people management, as this role has one direct report where you will manage the Finance Administrator with a high degree of focus on performance management and development.


Your duties will include:


  • Accountable for the delivery of P&H branch accounts that reflect an accurate and true representation and which are in line with appropriate accounting policies and relevant accounting standards.

  • Responsible for supporting branches and the Operations Finance teams with branch management accounts queries.

  • Coordination of the P&H branch flash process including preparation of input data; liaising with Commercial, Operational and Supply Chain teams to ensure current trading results are reflected appropriately; and submission to Divisional FP&A teams.

  • Ownership of all aspects of payroll, intercompany and general accruals and prepayments accounts; ensuring full balance sheet control, identification of all risks and opportunities and adherence to company policies and processes.

  • Responsibility for P&H chart of accounts maintenance ensuring that robust processes are in place for performance of system integrity checks and review and validation of account change requests are in place.

  • Drive and promote a culture of continuous improvement ensuring process efficiency and identification of I.T. enhancements and automation where applicable.

  • Lead both internal and external audit reviews for specific areas of responsibility ensuring a high degree of compliance and appropriate records being in place to validate results.

  • Assist the Operational Finance team with their budget processes through a deeper understanding of the accounts and the impact this can have on future periods.


What youll need to have


  • Qualified Accountant in either ACCA/Cima.

  • Experience of management of a team, ability to mentor and train new staff. Able to lead a team in a pressured environment and working towards tight timelines.

  • Previous experience of both financial controls and management accounts management and reporting.

  • Excellent computer and technology related skills, including Microsoft Office and Google systems.

  • Sound knowledge of business processes and their link into management accounts.

  • Ability to understand all areas of business and their impact on reported accounts.

  • Strong understanding of appropriate accounting standard and principles that are applicable to areas of ownership

  • Strong communicator, able to problem solve with strong decision making skills.
