Fugro is now looking for a fitting technician to join our Land Site Characterisation team in Falmouth. You will be responsible for maintaining Fugro plant and manufacturing new build equipment in our workshop, ensuring all plant is fit for purpose, HSSEQ issues are eliminated, and any site down time is reduced.

Who You’ll Be Working With

Working closely with Fitting shop supervisor/Charge-hand, Workshop Manager, co-workers & Plant supervisors, and site clients

Here’s What a Typical Day Would Be Like
  • Assess performance and condition of plant and machinery, check for wear and tear, identify potential breakdowns, and report to Supervisor/Charge hand.
  • React to site breakdowns, provide technical problem-solving solutions to site personnel, identify and reporting any defects likely to lead to major breakdowns.
  • Working with the supervisor to complete reports to ensure all progress, downtime, plant and equipment defects are correctly recorded

Essential

Who we’re looking for
  • 5 GCSE’s Including Maths and English at grade C or above.
  • BFPA Level 1 Hydraulics. NVQ Level 2-3. Apprentice trained or equivalent training.
  • Experience in marine plant/drilling equipment is preferred, strong in mechanical and hydraulic disciplines.
  • Can demonstrate experience of complete overhauls to fault finding on a wide variety of Plant such as pumps, winches, hydraulic deck cranes, HPU’s or agricultural equipment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Practical, Hands-on Individual

Desirable
  • CSCS card
  • First Aider
  • Folk lift
  • Slinger/signaller
  • Leadership/Supervisory experience advantageous
