Financial Systems Accountant

Responsibilities

• Leading in the European implementation of Oracle General Ledger, Fixed Asset, Inventory, Project Accounting
• Work as liaison between the business/end users and IT systems development teams for business needs requiring IT based solutions, including
• Identifying and analysing business needs, conducting requirements gathering
• Translating business requirements into application requirements and documenting said requirements
• Documenting processes and creating process flows
• Coordinate activities with financial managers and capturing key issues & taking actions to resolve
• Leading training sessions of both local project teams and remote staff both face to face and remotely
• Leading multiple testing phases
• Coordinating and facilitating a Mock Close as part of the finance implementation
• Post go live support
• Leading the data migration of the General Ledger, Fixed asset, Inventory and Project Accounting ledger as part of the implementation from the legacy system
• Deliver relevant actions related to the rollout of Oracle and other system changes
• Key member of finance team in the implementation of Oracle Order Management in Europe
• Develop order management reports to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting
• Develop Reporting in Oracle, Noetix and Power BI tool
• Liaising with local country teams and external tax (mainly VAT) consultants as required
• Ensure integrity of co–existing financial systems by developing and maintaining daily reconciliation processes
• Assist in supervising and developing team who perform co–existing reconciliations & support users
• Identifying and coordinating European financial projects relating to General Accounting
• Making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology
• Deputising for the European Financial Systems Manager at meetings relating to pan European accounting issues as required
• Supporting Shared Service Centers with month-end reporting, e.g., Hyperion (HFM) reporting and supporting the Oracle sites with their month end processes
• Supporting future European transfer of work to the Shared Service Centers
• Work with all areas of the business to ensure that systems are appropriate for users’ needs and consistent with the business approach and standards
• Provide European support to the Global functional and Business Unit teams as required
• Bring consistent best in class service levels for all services delivered
• Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed
• Flexibility for travel
• Occasional weekend/public holiday working is a requirement of the role

Requirements

• A Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/CIMA) with an appropriate level of experience
• Proven project delivery experience including the delivery of programs in a multi-BU European organisation
• Experience of building and maintaining relationships across all levels
• A good understanding of Oracle – both ERP product and overall company
• Appropriate levels of experience supporting and guiding others
• Strong team player with exceptional communication and presentation skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues with proficient English
• An understanding of business strategies, systems, as well as project management methodology
• English fluency to business standard essential
• Computer literacy essential with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications essential
