The job: Financial Reporting Accountant - Hybrid Working

The position is in the Financial Reporting team in our Global Business Services Centre of Excellence. The centre provides financial controllership in the region across various Thermo Fisher Scientific groups, including Life Sciences Solutions, Special Diagnostics and Laboratory Products. Currently the team is responsible for a large number of entities reporting a total of $2 Billion of revenue per year.

The successful candidate must demonstrate themselves as a knowledge leader in the accounting and reporting team. They will be a highly motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent communication, computer and organizational skills relevant to the role.

What will you do?
  • You will support the accurate and timely Monthly, Quarterly, Annual financial reporting for the region
  • Coordinate, train and guide the R2R team through Corporate accounting requirements and changes
  • Assume ownership of the monthly territory review process
  • Assume ownership of the balance sheet deep dive process
  • Report on regional group analytics and key performance indicators
  • Support the SOX and group reporting external audit process for EMEA
  • Support the SOX Internal Audit process for EMEA
  • Complete special projects as required
Who We Are Looking For
  • Qualified Accountant (CA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • High level of proactivity to drive continuous improvement
  • Deep technical accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills to interact at various levels inside and outside the organization
  • Previous experience of external audit would be advantageous
