With the increased focus on decarbonisation within the housing sector and the increased levels of grants and their complexity, the purpose of this role is to manage the current and future portfolio of grants across the business.

It will involve working closely with the innovation team within Homes and Communities and key stakeholders of the Care & Support division, ensuring that new or existing applications are financially robust, provide performance reporting on a timely basis and ensure all criteria associated with the submission of grant claims are met.

This role will also administer and manage the Capital and Revenue grants with other areas of finance, in line with the department’s operational plan. It is also key for this role to review the current processes and procedures and wherever possible implement automation to streamline the existing set up.

This is a fixed term role of 12 months duration with the possibility of extension.

You will need experience and skills in the following areas:
  • Part-Qualified CCAB Accountant OR relevant and equivalent qualification
  • Ability to analyse complex information and reach robust conclusions
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage work to strict accounting deadlines whilst ensuring an attention to detail
  • An understanding of Welsh Government grant process
  • Relevant 2:1 Degree or higher
