Hays have been engaged exclusively by a rapidly expanding organisation in Worcester to recruit an experienced Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

Due to significant growth in recent years, the company continues to go from strength to strength with further growth anticipated over the next 12 months. As a result, a need has arisen for a hands-on qualified Accountant to offer support across multiple areas in finance.

Your new role
Reporting into a passionate CFO, you will provide oversight for the accurate and timely production of management accounts, budgets, forecasts and relevant reporting for all companies within the Group whilst overseeing a team of Management Accountants.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee the production of all monthly company management accounts including the creation of monthly regional reports for presentation to the Operational team
  • Oversee the creation of monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends and financial forecasts
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Monitor the liquidity position of the business in order to report progress to the executive team
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff including Accountants and Finance Assistants
  • Motivate and lead finance team members through regular planning and feedback
  • Be an active member in the implementation of a new accounting system ensuring that adequate processes and procedures are developed
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Develop and review budgets and financial plans
  • Assist the CFO in presenting reports to Senior Management and act as deputy when required


What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant PQE
  • Relatable experience in a similar senior level role; ideally within a multi-site business
  • Technically strong with excellent analytical skills
  • Experience in managing/supervising staff in a finance function
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels
  • Effective time management skills in order to meet deadlines
  • Possess a proactive approach to work and always finding ways to improve processes and workflows
  • Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of accounting packages
