I am partnering exclusively with a longstanding client based in Yeovil to recruit a Financial Controller.

This is a newly created role to help manage the growth of the business and will form key support to the Finance Director in ensuring that all management and group reporting, regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines are met along with providing integrity and compliance around existing processes.

Responsibilities include;

  • Ownership of the financial ledgers (including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll and general ledger) and accounting processes ensuring compliance with Group policies
  • Overseeing the balance sheets and reconciliations to ensure the financial integrity
  • weekly and monthly profit and loss & balance sheet
  • Timely and accurate submission of forecasts and budgets
  • Production of year end statutory accounts and ownership of the audit process being the key liaison with group and the company auditors
  • Business tax reporting including the review of the quarterly group VAT return and monthly PAYE return along with the preparation of the companies Corporation Tax and other associated tax related returns
  • Ensuring appropriate financial procedures and controls are in place
  • Oversee the growth and development of the finance team

To be considered you will ideally be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent). This role would suit someone moving from practice, or someone already in industry but strong technical accounting skills are essential. You will need to be technically proficient and have Strong analytical skills
