About The Role

Base Location: Flexible UK

Salary: £38,700 - £58,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract 18months OR Secondment | Full Time | Flexible working options available

What is the role?

An exciting opportunity has been created for a Finance Transformation Analyst to join the finance team under the SSE Customer Energy Solutions Business. You will be responsible for rolling out ongoing changes from the SSE Finance Transformation Project for Customer, which encompasses Process Excellence & Automation, Data & Reporting, Ways of Working and Operating Model, Procurement of new tools, and Programme Management & Change.

Reporting into Finance Transformation Lead for SSE Customer Energy Solutions you will work closely with business stakeholders to translate business needs into object requirements understanding what is needed and how this can be achieved. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of SSE’s finance function and is an excellent opportunity to lead and support our finance teams through a period of exciting transformation.

The Finance Transformation Programme Will Deliver

  • Process simplification – driving standard processes across the Finance function, reducing manual effort and improving KPI’s across Operational Finance processes.
  • Technology – deliver Technology change, including architecture design; ERP Improvements and the implementation of new tools to support month-end, reporting and consolidation processes.
  • Data – deliver end-to-end finance data management solution, including data governance, data quality, data lineage, analytics and visualisation
  • Reporting - deliver both tactical and strategic finance reporting solution(s), covering management, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Chart of Accounts – implementation of a revised chart of accounts that will underpin the processes, reporting and technology solutions of the programme.

In your role as a Finance Transformation Business Analyst you will have responsibility for:

  • Delivering on programme assignments which will include, optimising processes throughout the finance function, delivering technology change and delivering end to end finance data management solution
  • Establishing best practices for development, leading Proof of Concept exercises for planning and reporting
  • Understanding business models and help translate this into business requirements and test scenarios for handover to IT partners
  • Documenting change process maps to help achieve desired outcomes and enable sustainable learning for end users
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of a project on a day-to-day basis, using specialist knowledge to make operational improvements as opportunities permit
  • Ensuring timely escalation & control of risks, issues, dependencies and timelines
  • Supporting the sharing of knowledge and experience with the team to develop colleagues and the capability of the SSE

What do I need?

We are looking for candidates with experience of delivering transformation projects within Finance functions, either as a consultant or as part of an in-house change-delivery team. This could be finance technology projects (e.g. ERP implementations) or other operating model transformations or finance process-improvement. An accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) is preferred and a good understanding of financial and management accounting concepts is essential.

You should also have;

  • Previous finance transformation project experience, from design to delivery including resource management, budgeting, communications and governance
  • Solid understanding of key reporting systems and tools (EBS, Oracle, PowerBI, OBIEE)
  • Strong Business Analysis and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders across all business functions to define requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly gain credibility and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management
  • Knowledge of and experience in formal project management methods, for example Agile
