Weaver Vale Housing Trusthas an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer(Management Accounts)to join the Finance team based in Gadbrook,Northwich(flexible home working is supported).You will work 37 hours per week, on afull-time, fixed-term contract (12-months) and you will receive a highly competitive salary of £24,865 per annum.

The Finance Officer (Management Accounts)Role

This is a varied role which will include: monthly management and year end accounts, budget preparation and monitoring, day to day management, monitoring and processing of the Trust’s insurance claims.

Responsibilities Of OurFinance Officer (Management Accounts)include
  • Contributing towards the development and implementation of finance systems relating to the role
  • Ensuring that the quality of the service given to all customers is the highest possible and that up to date and accurate information is provided
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements along with best practice
  • Role in financial Systems Administration for the General Ledger module of our Financial Accounts Package, including the actioning of period end routines
  • Creation and maintenance of reports from the reporting module of our Financial Accounts Package
  • Providing support to the Finance Team Leader in terms of providing advice to line managers in the preparation and development of Budgets and Management Information, including the attendance at regular meetings with service users
  • Assisting the Finance Team Leader in budget preparation, budgetary control, monthly management and year end accounts preparation
  • Assisting in ensuring the accuracy of accounting records; provide accurate and timely information for reports and returns as required
  • Financial administration of externally funded programmes
  • Involvement in the day to day management, monitoring, processing and reporting on insurance claims, including the administration of insurance databases
  • Contributing to procedure note formulation and maintenance within the Finance Team including assisting in the maintenance of the main Procedure Note Manual
  • Any other accountancy / administrative work as and when requested by the Finance Team Leader or Head of Finance
  • To deliver all work in line with the Trusts GDPR, H&S, Financial and People policies and procedures
What we’re looking for in ourFinance Officer (Management Accounts):
  • Accountancy or Business degree level of education or equivalent level of operational experience
  • Experience within a busy financial environment
  • Experience of computerised financial systems and proficient user of spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of Financial systems
  • Knowledge of Financial and management accounts preparation
  • Knowledge of Budgetary management and control
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to solve complex problems
  • Able to author technical procedural documentation to a high standard
  • Understands the importance of teamwork and collaborates effectively with others
  • Demonstrates drive and determination
  • Analytically minded with attention to detail
