It is a very exciting time to be joining the largest NHS Board in Scotland as we implement our transformational healthcare strategy, ‘Moving Forward Together’, which is underway to ensure delivery of better health and healthcare outcomes for the population of Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

We are seeking to appoint a new Finance Manager South sector within Acute services who will be responsible for the strategic and operational accountability for the following key role:

The Finance Manager South sector will provide a professional financial management service to the sector, working as a key member of the sector team supporting budget holders and key stakeholders.

You will be the finance lead for a portfolio of highly complex projects across a wide range of services for the planning and development of short, medium and longer term initiatives including the sectors Financial improvement programme. You will lead in the delivery of robust monthly and annual accounts and provide professional advice and forecasts to a variety of service users.

Acute Services revenue budget is £1.5 billion, with an establishment of approx. 21,500 wte.

We are seeking to appoint an engaging and inspiring leader who, can challenge conventional thinking, embrace change and have a genuine desire to continuously improve financial performance. We are looking for a candidate who will bring experience of developing and implementing financial strategy, leading transformation and change, excellent people management skills and the ability to work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be a qualified accountant with a recognised Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB), with demonstrable experience in a Senior Finance Manager role including significant budgetary responsibility and expert in the delivery of a quality finance service with a broad range of practical experience in the provision of a modern financial management service, including performance management, project management and strategic financial planning and staff management
