CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Finance Director to be based in the London.
The successful candidate will act as the strategic Global Financial Business Partner to the Global & Regional Heads of Local Accounts & DCS Project Management. They will lead sustainable financial growth by taking ownership of the financial strategy, controls, and management information across each Division: Americas, UK, CEMEA&I, APAC and DCS. Provide valuable insights and influence to impact performance and maintain competitive advantage.

Role Summary:

Financial Control
  • Ensure Local Account & DCS Project Management policies and procedures are adhered to consistently throughout each Division. Specific focus on revenue recognition (in line with US GAAP) & implementing high standards to achieve clean audits
  • Work to improve levels of project billing, debt, work in progress and accrued income across all business lines
  • Identify and resolve any areas of financial weakness in current Local Accounts & DCS Project Management (e.g. reduction in level of Balance sheet write offs)
  • Develop targets and benchmarking processes to challenge the financial information of Local Accounts & DCS by Division whilst aiming to improve overall financial performance
  • Train Local Accounts Finance managers in Principal projects accounting process

Reporting
  • Partner closely with the Global Local Accounts & DCS Project Management leadership team to drive the global strategic growth expectations of doubling the Project Management business by 2024
  • Partner with Local Accounts Finance Directors to deliver consistent financial strategy and reporting for Principal Projects
  • Produce monthly P&L and Order Book financial summaries for Global Local Accounts & DCS Project Management for senior stakeholders (e.g. Ian Entwisle, Jim Dobleske, Division Local Accounts & DCS Project Leaders), with detailed commentary and analysis to make informed business decisions
  • Partner closely with the Global Local Accounts & DCS Project Management finance and leadership teams in the review of the annual division budgets. Ensure growth and cost management result in strong YOY growth in support of our growth strategy
  • Develop improved forecasting technique and methodology to drive improved accuracy of Local Accounts & DCS forecasting across the Divisions
  • Prepare cost-benefit reports and pro-active analytical work to facilitate continuous improvement of Global Local Accounts & DCS financial performance
  • Produce monthly KPI financial reports & flashes for various meetings which encourage, motivate, and inform the Local Accounts & DCS Project Management community to help meet planned growth targets. (e.g. Orderbook, WIP, accrued income tracker, etc.)
  • Works with Divisional leadership to drive cross-selling across the organization in accordance with Global Project Management guidance
  • Assist in development of pipeline reporting to help drive a “Sales” & “Growth” Mentality from Project Directors & HOP’s
  • Manage special projects and prepare presentations for senior management

Business Relationships
  • Identify key stakeholders of the Global Local Accounts Projects & DCS revenue stream across the globe and establish strong collaborative relationships to help support and advise with specialist expertise
  • Ensure Local Accounts & DCS Project Management issues and resolutions are identified promptly, communicated to the appropriate level
  • Ensure use of best practice, communication and understanding of key business messages

Added Value
  • Drives the overall global Project Management growth strategy in partnership with other regional PJM business partners. This includes developing and driving consistent analysis around KPIs/metrics, M&A support, investment analysis, cost/benefit analysis
  • Drive technology innovation through tool development to improve financial performance & governance whilst reducing workload of the finance community
  • Support Global Local Accounts leadership on the updated implementation of the Principal Delivery model
  • Fully comprehend the financial and commercial detail of major project contracts to ensure optimal performance and risk management
  • Train non-finance staff in use of financial systems ensuring complete, consistent, and accurate financial statement

Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in a business-related field
  • Requires a minimum of ten years related experience to include at least three years in a lead or supervisory capacity; public accounting experience preferred
  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA or equivalent; MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, business people and management
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to effectively interact with management, employees, auditors, etc. and respond effectively to the most sensitive issues
  • Ability to write reports and manuals using distinctive style; ability to motivate and work collaboratively with business partners, key employees, top management, and client groups on various projects
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles; ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions; develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts
  • Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other software and financial systems is desired (particularly Microsoft Dynamics, iScala, PeopleSoft Financials and Cognos Planning)
  • Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology especially specific to the Project Management business such as: consultancy, construction, principal business model
  • Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams.
  • Data driven and BI savvy
  • Strong work ethic and adaptable
