Finance Director

This is a really rare and exciting opportunity to join a diverse, fun and fast-growing IT company as their Finance Director. This is a very ambitious business that would suit someone who wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment.

Robert Half are delighted to be working exclusively and retained with an ambitious and rapidly expanding IT business. Due to continued growth, investment and acquisitions we are now in the process of helping them hire a brand-new Finance Director.

This role will be reporting directly into the CEO and will be responsible for leading the finance and commercial agenda for two very exciting businesses.

We are looking for a highly motivated Finance Director who wants to work in a cradle to grave finance role. This position will touch on M&A, integrations, system changes, FP&A, commercial

finance, strategy, reporting, controls and audit.

This role will involve supporting a high number of key stake holders whilst leading and developing a capable finance function.

If you come from an IT, Technology or Software background then this would be highly advantageous. SAAS / Rev Rev etc.

This business has one office in Central Surrey and one office in North Hampshire, the offices are about 30 minutes apart, but we would need someone to work across both sites.

Wish List

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong financial accounting and commercial skill set.
  • Have ideally operated in a senior finance role.
  • Ideally come from an IT, Software or Tech background.

This is reporting into a very dynamic leader who really supports but also empowers people to make an impact.

The Role

  • Reporting accurate trading and strategic information to the Board, to optimise financial performance. Including Profit and loss, by departments, balance sheet, cashflow and forecasts.
  • Form a working relationship with the CEO and other senior Management team.
  • Contribute fully to the development of the company’s strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision making with financial analysis to maximise profitability and growth.
  • Providing leadership to the finance function, to maintain accurate and up to date records, whilst developing the finance team.
  • Working with multiple departments supporting financial decision making with senior managers.
  • Overseeing departments involved in Purchasing, pricing and debt management.
  • Maintaining cashflow, analysing potential financial weaknesses and strengths.
  • Implement Board agreed policies and procedures.
  • Maintain relationships with service providers, banking institutions and accountants.
  • Ensure that all of the company’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
  • Create Presentations for internal and external use.
  • Assistance in maintenance of the centrally controlled Banking facility.
  • Management of the year end audit process working with external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards to achieve accounts completion in line with deadlines.
  • Integrating Acquisitions.

Your profile

The successful Finance Director is likely to be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong commercial skill set.

This would ideally suit someone who has operated at a senior leadership / finance director level.

Having the confidence to manage bright stakeholders and influence at board level is critical. It would therefore probably suit a people person who enjoys high levels of collaboration.
