Finance Business Partner

Salary: £450 per day

Location: working from home

Duration: fixed term contract

Sellick Partnership has been assigned to recruit a Commercial Finance Business Partner on a fixed term contract for a very successful and instantly recognisable business based in Greater Manchester.

The assignment falls outside IR35 and will be largely project focussed. I am looking for candidates who have experience of evaluating processes, identifying and then implementing improvements that have had been successfully embedded into businesses. You should also be able to demonstrate that you have delivered both control and efficiency process improvements.

You will provide expertise and advice to the organisation, senior management and operational teams to improve the performance, in this case for driving change and end to end thinking across the business. You will be expected to work autonomously and expected to direct, challenge and influence to maximise profitability.

You will have had experience of working with commercial teams and have the ability to quickly build constructive working relationships. You will be spending a significant amount of time dealing with non-finance professionals so must be able to communicate clearly without using Finance jargon. In addition delivery deadlines will be tight so a goal focus is key. You will also have to manage competing deadlines and be able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) who comes from a similar commercial finance or business partnering background ideally within the retail, wholesale, multisite, leisure or FMCG industry.

Due to the broad focus and demanding nature of the role it will suit an individual who is goal oriented, commercially astute, agile in managing multiple priorities, and has the ability to drive change in a supportive and collaborative way.

You will be strategically minded, with the ability to flex between detail and high-level strategy coupled with excellent communication and influencing skills, as well as the ability to get buy in from senior stakeholders, as this will be essential to the success in the role.

The role requires an ambitious and proactive individual who enjoys applying a strong commercial focus, with the ability to understand business strategy, identify and interpret financial trends yet have the ability to simplify complex information. You will enjoy building robust and productive relationships, providing support and challenge across all functions and liaising with senior management.

You will have strong business partnering, driving and delivering efficiencies, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills and in particular the ability to engage with and influence with senior leaders on a strategic level. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements. In addition you will have the ability to work independently and together with other personnel both finance and non-finance.
