An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Finance Business Partner to be the lead financial support for the Regional Partnership Board (RPB) in delivering the combined Health and Social Care Regional Integration Fund (RIF).

This role will be hosted by the Health Board, with day-to-day responsibility reporting to the lead of the RIF, and a professional reporting line to the Health Board Finance Business Partnering team.

This role supports the RIF lead in providing strong strategic and operational high quality financial management business support and customer focused financial support in appraising and prioritising the realisation of schemes put forward across the Health and Social Care teams within the West Wales region, which covers Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Carmarthenshire.

Role

The role of a Finance Business Partner in the context of this Health Board and its role in supporting the RIF programme is to be focused on
  • Forward thinking: ensuring that financial forecasts and modelling are developed and embedded in the way we work, and that effective risk management arrangements are embedded;
  • Financial monitoring: resource use, physical activity drivers, including variances from budget, long term trends and projections;
  • Options and decisions: supporting policy decisions and business cases with evidence-based financial information;
  • Financial intelligence: ensuring that value, is an integral part of our arrangements;
  • Financial governance: ensuring that arrangements are fit for purpose;
  • Whole-system: financial consequences are considered across the organisation and within divisions;
  • Advice: divisions are provided with sound, commercial advice.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.
  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
  • Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
  • 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
