How Do We Support Our Employees

Context For The Role

Reporting to the CFO Investment Management, the role provides finance business partnering support for the MGG change portfolio. This portfolio includes programmes that are sponsored across different divisions, and that are reported both ‘above the line’ (within operating costs) and ‘below the line’ (as transformation activity). Key stakeholders include Director of Transformation Delivery, programme sponsors (notably Dir ector of Operations), the Transformation Office and senior stakeholders within finance.

Work Level Accountabilities

Manager/Expert
  • For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
  • For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
  • Manages conflicts that may impact delivery
  • Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
  • Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output
  • Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience
Key Responsibilities
  • Management of the month end, forecast and budget processes for the MGG change portfolio (both above the line and below the line).
  • Provide b usiness p artnering support to d irectors of the function, providing critical challenge where necessary and facilitating their business objectives .
  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customer s, cost and risk.
  • Manage the relationship with the team in Mumbai supporting Central Services.
  • Line management for 2 FTE.
  • Provides technical accounting support where required, ensuring accurate books of record are maintained (e.g. capitalisation requiremen ts, standard costing).
Experience, Skills And Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Able to liaise effectively with people at all levels and build strong relationships across the business.
  • Experience with working in a portfolio / project management environment.
  • Very strong analytical and problem - solving skills with a good track record of process improvement. Able to question and understand complex financial data and demonstrate experience in presenting analysis in a suc cinct manner and appropriate format.
  • A strong interest in and / or experience of asset management/Insurance.
  • Finance qualification or equivalent.
  • Track record of successful line management.
