How Do We Support Our Employees

The Role

This role is for an Actuary in the Policyholder Capital Modelling Team. The team sits within the PAC Modelling team in Finance Reporting and is responsible for calibrating models used to calculate the capital requirement for the company. This role has the potential to work across the wider team, seeing all aspects of capital modelling, including supporting the Policyholder and Shareholder valuation teams with quarterly reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a part qualified/qualified actuary to join the team.

This is a permanent position which will begin working remotely and will then have a blended work pattern between working from home and one of our offices in Stirling/Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities For This Role
  • Develop an understanding of the management of the business
  • Parameterise models and calibrate a range of proxy liability models used for calculating the company’s capital requirements
  • Support quarterly reporting
  • Assess the fit of the calibrations
  • Significant interaction with other areas of the business
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • A part qualified or qualified Actuary
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • An interest in developing knowledge of financial impacts of Solvency II reporting
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Able to think about the big picture and consider the impact of decisions
