Finance / Admin Assistant - 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri) on site in Nottingham.

£12.47 - £13.40 per hour, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits/flexible hours.

Mansfield Road (Nottingham) Baptist Housing Association Limited www.mrbha.orgprovides accommodation for elderly people within the Nottingham area. The Association was formed in 1968 and has grown over the years. It now houses over 120 tenants in its four schemes of warden-aided apartments.

The Association provides high quality accommodation designed for comfort, security and convenience. It strives to provide services and facilities to enhance quality of life, particularly to meet physical, social and spiritual needs and aims to foster a real sense of social community within its complexes. MRBHA is non-profit making and run by a voluntary board of management.

We are seeking a Finance Admin Assistant to join us on a part time & permanent basis. As the Finance Admin Assistant, you will report to the Association Manager and join an excellent team environment. Based at the Association’s Head Office you must have experience in a similar position and have the ability to hit the ground running. The suitable candidate will be a personable individual who will fit into a team environment and be able to liaise with colleagues confidently. Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of the monthly accounts using the Sage 50 accounting system.
  • Preparation of the monthly payroll and making the associated returns to HMRC and the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Rent Collection – Recording Payments on computerised spreadsheets and responding to rent enquiries from Tenants.
  • Checking and payment of invoices.
  • Arranging new/amending current Direct Debit payments.
  • Prepare banking and making payments into the bank.
  • Controlling/balancing petty cash.
  • Managing the office in the absence of the Manager.
  • General office duties, to include mail, telephone calls, filing, letter writing, stationary ordering.
  • Attend bi-monthly Board meetings and take minutes, when required, this could be out of normal working hours.

The Finance Admin Assistant is expected to accept other responsibilities and perform other duties, which may from time to time be reasonably requested by the Association Manager.

The Job Description is subject to review and may be amended according to the needs and development of the Association.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a financial administrative role is essential.
  • Experience with Sage 50 finance and payroll systems or other financial management system beneficial.
  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office systems essential.
  • Experience managing a busy inbox would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a collections or credit control position beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills essential.
  • Educated to at least GCSE grade C standard, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics essential.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills essential.
  • Confident, professional, and strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide information by answering questions and requests
  • Managing the office in the manager’s absence.
  • Working to time schedules.
