About the role:

As our electrically biased Maintenance Engineer, you’ll support the continued growth of the business by providing reactive and planned maintenance services in the area as well as support larger scale projects.

Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday, but flexibility will be needed for start and finish times, weekends, night shifts, and an on-call rota.

Our engineers are contracted to work 40 hours per week - the reality is you’ll probably work closer to 45 hours and occasionally more, but we have good overtime rates in place and we provide you with a company van and fuel card to get from A to B. We are a reactive facilities maintenance business so no two days will be the same!

Because some of the sectors we work in involve close contact with vulnerable or young people, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Your main duties as our electrically biased Maintenance Engineer will include:

  • Routine PMV (Planned Monthly Visit) work – this will include a set of monthly checks around site and any odd jobs needed completing by the customer.
  • Completing six monthly and annual compliance servicing – emergency lighting, fire alarms, fire extinguishers and air conditioning.
  • Attending callouts/breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repair as required.
  • Be proactive in reporting faults to equipment, buildings and fittings
  • Providing materials lists and time estimates for return remedial works.
  • Work safely and within all regulations
  • You will also be expected to work as part of an on-call rota to cover out-of-hours emergencies and there may be occasions when you’ll be asked to work outside your core discipline to support other teammates

What we’re looking for in our ideal electrically biased Maintenance Engineer:

  • Current electrical installation qualification and good industry experience
  • Good understanding of emergency lighting systems and servicing.
  • Good understanding of fire alarm systems and servicing.
  • Previous experience working as an maintenance engineer.
  • The ability to follow Risk Assessments & Method Statements
  • PC literate with knowledge of MS Outlook and other MS Office programmes
  • IPAF - Desirable
  • PAMSA – Desirable
  • A high degree of attention to detail
  • A good appreciation of Health and Safety
  • Highly customer focused with experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Experience of working within a mobile workforce, ideally in an FM company
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full driving licence
