FCA Compliance Manager


Location: Newbury, hybrid working pattern (1-2 days per week in the office)

Working across the business, our Compliance Monitoring Managers play a key role in assessing the design and operation of processes and controls to ensure Vodafone is meeting its obligations.

As part of the Compliance Monitoring and Assurance team, you will be responsible for the creation, delivery and maintenance of a robust compliance monitoring framework to meet our regulatory obligations. Working closely with the Senior Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in setting our monitoring agenda and promoting our culture of delivering good customer outcomes. While primarily focused on FCA compliance, you will also consider and act across our wider compliance landscape, to ensure our monitoring approach appropriately reflects emerging risks. This involves creating monitoring plans, evaluating areas of the UK business for compliance, writing reports, presenting findings to senior leadership, and ensuring effective closure of any issues identified.


What will you be doing?


  • Create, manage and deliver the monitoring plan, including formal quarterly updates.
  • Provide senior leadership with independent assessments of the design and operation of systems and controls for regulatory compliance.
  • Identify compliance gaps and control weaknesses, agree corrective actions, and hold management to account for delivery.
  • Manage team administration activities, including internal quality assurance, report templates, record keeping and plan version control.
  • Ensure effective tracking of actions to closure, with timely escalation of issues to the Senior Compliance Manager.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to align activities and share information.
  • Highlight opportunities for process improvement and simplification.
  • Support ad hoc projects as and when required.


Who are we looking for?


  • Compliance Monitoring experience, including plan management in an FCA authorised firm.
  • FCA handbook knowledge related to systems and controls, CONC and ICOBs, ideally gained in a Compliance Advisory or Monitoring role.
  • Strong analytical, written and communication skills.
  • Appropriate compliance qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • OFCOM or telecommunications experience would be an advantage
