Egg Farm Worker
Poultry Farm Worker

We are a leading supplier of eggs into an impressive range of customers in the UK retail and food service sectors.

Working Hours:

7.30am – 13:00pm, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working during busy times.

30 mins of paid break and 30 mins unpaid break

Purpose of the role:
As a Poultry Farm Worker you will work on an egg laying unit working as part of a team to carry out a series of different tasks on a daily basis

Your key responsibilities as a Poultry Farm Worker will include:

· Handling/lifting of shavings and trays to a maximum 25kg

· Working in Poultry houses – including, but not limited to, walking the sheds, laying shavings, handling poultry, feeding, watering and general care of poultry.

· General farm duties – including, but not limited to, grounds maintenance, cleaning of equipment - and relevant paperwork

· Collecting, screening and packing eggs into trays

· To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team which will include close contact with poultry and poultry manure

· Compliance with bird welfare, bio-security and HSE guidelines

· To carry out instructions as given to you by your Farm Owner or designated supervisor

· To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks and how equipment should be used

· Understanding and attainment of both individual and farm targets

· To fully understand and comply with all site and company policies and guidelines

· Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards

What we are looking for:

Essential

· Basic level of numeracy and literacy

· Ambitious to improve quality standards on farm

· Team player driven by team success

· Will need to be manually dextrous and able to climb on scaffolding type structures and get under/into awkward spaces

· Able to work in hot dusty environments wearing PPE (note this is not for the entire shift)

· Transport as we are not on public transport route

· Reliable and good time keeper and definitely no clock watchers!

Desirable

· Previous experience of working in an agriculture environment or similar position
