  • Full time: 5 days, to include one day of the weekend
  • Part time: 3 / 4 days, to include one day of the weekend
  • Set days each week, no shift change/rotation

Located on the A66, 4 miles west of Scotch Corner, North Yorkshire (easy access to A1), we are a family-run award winning, flagship business which continues to grow each year.

Our latest expansion, opened in November 2021, sees our food hall grow in size. Located on our ground floor, our food hall is a fresh and unique food paradise. Our fresh food counters take centre stage, all filled with our home reared meats from out in-house butchery department, and home made pies, cakes and much more. We stock everything you could imagine, from everyday food essentials, to local preserves and the finest wines and spirits.

Attention to detail is key - we create unique retail displays in-house and are continually adding new products each week to the shop floor. Our local customers visit frequently, and love to see our new displays and products throughout the year. Our customers from further afield visit us seasonally throughout the year so they love to see our extravagant festive displays at Christmas, and fresh local produce during the summer months. A continual change and impeccable upkeep of displays and stock is a must to ensure the best shopping experience for each customer.

Each week we receive many deliveries, so we can ensure a fully stocked food hall week-in-week-out for our customers.

Main duties to include:

  • Serving customers on the checkouts
  • maintaining high standards of visual displays/cleanliness of shop floor
  • accepting deliveries throughout the day
  • dealing with deliveries and pricing products ready for the shop floor
  • stock rotation and checking dates
  • replenishing our fresh foods throughout the day
  • replenishing our ambient product shelves
  • keeping work place clear and tidy at all times

Candidates must:

  • Enjoy working in a busy environment
  • take pride in delivering high standards of customer service
  • work well with others and in a team, and be able to listen to instructions
  • have high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • have a positive, enthusiastic attitude

Training given on the job, and is on going throughout your time at Mainsgill. We are a family-run business with a very hands on approach. We all work as a team to provide best service and products for our customers.

Experience is desired in a retail/customer facing role and have enthusiasm for the new exciting role.

We operate with set-days of work each week (no rota). Full time is 5 days, one day to be one day of the weekend.
