Farm Shop Assistant

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is an award-winning zoo set in 100 acres of open beautiful countryside just outside Bristol.

Our Farm Shop opened in 2020 and has become very popular with passing trade and also our zoo visitors. Our Farm Shop sells fresh and frozen meals, homemade cakes and desserts, all made with local produce, freshly cooked in the Noah’s Ark Farm Kitchen by our team of talented chefs.

Our other products are sourced from local businesses in the South West and small sustainable British businesses.

We are currently looking for a Farm Shop Assistant to work every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you have a flair at providing outstanding customer service, then we want to hear from you.

Salary: £9.50 per hour.

Some of your responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

• Providing a warm welcome and friendly efficient service to all our customers.
• You will be Barista trained, as will be making a multitude of hot drinks.
• Taking customer orders and payments, operating the tills.
• Serving hot and cold food to our customers.
• Have strong product knowledge and be happy to give any additional information as and when required.
• Ensuring the shop displays are always fully stocked and presentable to customers.
• Tidy and clean tables and customer areas in and around the Farm Shop.
• To communicate and work closely with the Catering Manager and our Chef’s to ensure food and drink supplies are well managed throughout each day.
• Follow our Stock Control Policy.
• Food Hygiene and Allergen compliance.
• Working within our food barn and zoo gift shop as and when needed.

About you:

• Retail experience - preferred.
• Customer experience - essential.
• Till trained and cash handling - essential.
• Barista trained - preferred, however, full training will be given.
• IT skills.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Good team player with a flexible can-do attitude.
• Driving licence or own transport.
• Happy to work alone on occasions.
• Willingness to work within the Christian ethos of the zoo.
