Based at Presently Home Working but will attend work bases as and when required in line with present safe working arrangements.

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

We are recruiting to 6 Family Support workers across our Prevention and Early Help Service across the Bradford District. This role is pivotal within the service working with families who may need some additional support over and above what the Lead Practitioner role within our partner agencies can offer. You will work in a whole family way whilst also ensuring assessments and plans promote children and young people’s wellbeing.

We are looking for highly motivated and creative individuals who can manage time well and have a passion for supporting others. You will be a positive and flexible team member, engage fully with supervision and your own development and work well with other agencies.

Essentially, you will have:

  • Minimum of 2 years continuous & recent experience of working directly with children, young people and parents including evidence of recent case holding experience.
  • NVQ 3 or Diploma 3, in Health & Social Care, including knowledge regarding children’s development, or equivalent child related qualification.
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • IT literacy.
