Hope House Children’s Hospiceshave an opportunity for a Family Counsellor to join our team based in Oswestry.You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, working 15 hours per week. In return, our Family Counsellorwill receive a competitive salary of £27,179 - £37,466 per annum, pro rata.Hope House Children’s Hospice is a centre of excellence for children’s palliative care ensuring every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it. No one should face the death of a child alone.About theFamily Counsellor role:The Family Counsellor will provide one to one, couple and where qualified family therapeutic counselling in person at the hospices and designated counselling hubs, online and via the telephone. The Family Counsellor will be passionate about working with adults and children and will manage a caseload of clients, both child and adult, bereaved and pre bereaved and provide person centred therapeutic counselling.You will also coordinate, facilitate and support, group therapy sessions which may take place in the evenings and weekends.As an experienced bereavement counsellor, you will be a positive role-model for your team, offer expert advice and support, provide regular peer supervision and pro-actively help develop your team’s skills, knowledge and confidence.You will put the children and families at the heart of everything we do and use our resources carefully to deliver responsive safe and effective care.What we are looking for aFamily Counsellor who:- Will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work, possess excellent decision-making skills and can multitask effectively and plan over the immediate term
- Holds a recognised level 6 qualification in counselling satisfying BACP Stage 3 Core Practitioner training or similar accreditation
- Has experience in counselling couples, children and young people
- Is highly organised and can rapidly prioritise
- Is proficient in the use of IT packages
