We are looking for a Facilities and Compliance Officer to day to day services as directed by the Head of Compliance, including facilities and building management, site services, and security in order to facilitate the effective running of the College. The role works across a 2 shift pattern and weekend working will be required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Carry out testing of the emergency systems across the College, i.e. testing of the fire alarm system, testing of the emergency lights, in liaison with Maintenance.
  • Carry out portable appliance testing in line with an agreed programme and on an ‘as and when basis’, in consultation with Maintenance.
  • Undertake routine site/classroom checks to maintain good operational practice and compliance.
  • Setting up rooms, assisting with moves, moving furniture and equipment, to and from storage, assembling, positioning and dismantling as required to meet commercial and curriculum requirements.
  • Undertake first line repairs, maintenance and clean ups to make safe the physical environment, adhering to Health and Safety policy and ensuring the safety of staff, pupils and external visitors.
  • Issuing and keeping records of keys issued, liaising with HR and line managers to ensure that keys are returned when people leave the College.
  • Carry out Swimming Pool checks in liaison with the Swimming Pool Manager and Maintenance.
  • Carry out weekly water run offs when required.
  • Assist with adverse weather preparation and reparation.
  • Assist in building and maintenance projects and provide support to all building users.
  • Complete tasks as directed by the Head of Compliance to ensure the highest standard of facilities and provision for curriculum and commercial activities
  • Provide a first response for any facilities or building issues in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Work flexibly to ensure excellent service standards are achieved.
  • Adhere to shift task list produced by the Head of Compliance and complete routine scheduled tasks in a safe and efficient manner in line with customer expectations.
  • Ensure the sustainability and ongoing functioning of all College space.
  • Reporting faults and responding where necessary.
  • Carrying out damage limitation in the case of emergencies.
  • Record task completion and provide updates of ongoing tasks.
