Shift Details: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:30 pm

Brakes are currently recruiting for a full time Facilities Assistant to join the team in Tamworth, Staffordshire on a permanent basis. If you are a multi skilled Facilities Technician who has a proven track record of welding and metal work, alongside general facilities/maintenance/painting/decorating skills. Then we want to hear from you!

As Facilities Assistant you’ll be working across a multi-temperature site taking care of General Building and Office Maintenance. Your primary function on a daily basis will be to work with Facilities Manager and other site Managers to ensure facility is a safe place to work for all of our colleagues and visitors. Our team will rely upon you to repair delivery cages keeping them safe for use by our team to deliver goods in an efficient manner. We require someone with a willingness take on any manner of work, ranging from conveyors, refrigeration, ultra-low freezers, printers, dock levellers, MHE battery maintenance, racking and general repairs and maintenance and record keeping as the needs of the business see fit.

To join us as a Facilities Assistant you must have previous experience in maintenance, modification, trouble shooting, and repair of a wide variety of challenging electronic and mechanical systems in an Industrial environment. You’ll be a self-starter with the capacity to learn all phases of facility maintenance including performing scheduled & unscheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks.

Prior training in the following areas is favourable but not essential:

  • Experience of industrial ammonia refrigeration
  • Experience working with a building management system.
  • H&S qualification either IOSSH or NEBOSH
  • Basic understanding of plumbing including pumps, sprinklers & pipework
