Job content
Notting Hill Prep is a popular, co-educational school in the heart of Notting Hill with a staff of highly committed and passionate teachers. We are seeking to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant as soon as possible. The role will suit someone with previous experience in the classroom, although we will also consider those with no formal teaching experience who may be considering a career in Early Years or Primary Education.
The position will include supporting the class teacher within curriculum lessons, reading support, helping to develop pupils’ social skills and organising teaching resources.
Notting Hill Prep is a ‘Thinking School’, a title which reflects its intelligent approach to education and its devotion to instilling in its children the values of resilience, creativity and responsibility, which it holds dear. We teach children not merely to learn, but to learn how to learn. The successful applicant will share the school’s aspirations.
This role will involve contact with and responsibility for children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.
The salary will be competitive, depending on experience.
Please click the ‘Apply’ button to submit your application form.
The closing date for completed applications is 9am on Monday 8th November 2021, although early applications are encouraged. Interviews will take place shortly after the closing date. The interview will include the observation of the candidate with a group of children.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
NHP is an equal opportunities employer.
