Job content
This role will provide a variety of essential legal and administrative support as part of the London City Airport in-house legal team, facilitating the delivery of a high quality and comprehensive legal service to the business.
Main responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following, under supervision:
Commercial/Contract
Liaising with internal stakeholders to discuss contract requirements
Contract drafting and negotiation including contract variations and NDA’s
Lease and licence drafting and negotiations
Managing the LCY group’s property database
Company Secretarial
Drafting board minutes and other company secretarial documentation
Liaising with the external company secretary
Managing company registers
Managing KYC and due diligence queries from external parties
Insurance
Coordinating annual information renewal information requests
Handling insurance queries in liaison with LCY’s insurance broker
Data Protection
assisting with handling subject access requests and other data protection queries
working with internal departments to ensure that data protection requirements are being met
management of insured and uninsured claims
Conducting legal research and preparing draft advisory notes
General administrative tasks such as maintaining contractual records and ensuring that internal contract signing procedures are correctly followed
Other ad-hoc tasks as the business requires
Qualifications
Law degree (2:1 minimum), Graduate Diploma in law (Commendation minimum) or CILEX qualification
LPC preferred (Commendation minimum)
Skills: Professional
Ability to communicate with all levels of the business including senior management and to explain complex legal issues to a non-legal audience
Strong commercial and business awareness including the ability to assess client needs and tailor advice as appropriate
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Prioritisation skills and ability to manage a variable workload
Strong organisational skills
High degree of IT literacy
Familiarity with legal research databases
legal/paralegal experience (some experience in an in-house environment desirable)
