Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities

The primary focus of the role will be to assist with the smooth running of the UK Board through supporting the team and the Board directors. This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the Company Secretary, Board directors and the Chair of the Board on various matters ensuring the Board process runs effectively
  • Diary management of the Chair of the Board
  • Plan and manage visits, trips and associated itineraries for the Board, Board members and the Company Secretary
  • Compilation of Board, Board Committee and Executive Committee packs and associated follw up actions
  • Organising training for the Board and Executive committee
  • Board and Executive meeting support Keeping the legal entity system up to date and maintaining the Bank statutory registers and submitting appropriate compliance and regulatory filings
  • Support the SMCR Working Group (a cross department forum - Governance/HR/Compliance).
  • Policies – supporting the policy annual review coordination
The Ideal Candidate
  • Prior Governance and Company Secertarial experience is essential
  • Experience of interacting at a Board and Executive level
  • Confidence in providing complex support to members of the Executive team
  • Understanding of the Senior Managers Regime and associated responsibilities
  • Understanding of best governance practice as prescribed by the UK Corporate Governance Code and FRC guidance, Companies Act 2006.
  • Exceptional organisation skills, with a very high degree of accuracy and timely delivery;
  • Proactive self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and multi-task;
  • Previous experience of working successfully directly with Board directors
  • Good understanding of the Bank and how it operates through its branch network
  • Exercises confidentiality, discretion and personal sensitivity in all aspects of the role;
  • Confident in client and public situations;
  • Demonstrates flexibility and resilience;
  • A diplomatic approach and the confidence in providing support to Senior Management Team;
  • Anticipates needs of the team/tasks and proactively manages them;
  • Seeks to continuously develop in order to enhance and acquire knowledge, skills and expertise;
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook;
  • Proven ability in preparing business documentation to a high standard;
  • Excellent use of verbal and written English communication skills;
