Job Introduction

The Bank’s Manchester premises at Barbirolli Square (BSQ) houses both UK function departments and some branch departments, including key critical infrastructure that supports the growing branch network. This role is vitally important to ensure the efficient operation of these departments. The role involves co-ordinating, directing and managing all facilities management activity across BSQ.

Main Responsibility

  • Manage a team of staff providing office facilities support at BSQ which includes reception and meeting room facilities, security and access control and postroom functions.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge and understanding of the various areas of support provided by team members. Provide guidance in these areas as required.
  • Coordinate/liaise with landlord’s maintenance, reception and security teams;
  • Coordinate the maintenance of critical power systems. Communicating any issues with relevant parties in a timely fashion;
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of various areas of Commercial Property/Facilities Managements laws/regulations applicable to the Bank
  • Maintain a good working relationship with Senior Mangement, UK Dept Head and other Central Depts based at BSQ.
  • Keep up to date on innovation and trends with in FM
  • Maintain a good understanding and application of Heath & Safety laws, policies and guidelines, advising staff/depts based at BSQ accordingly. Ensure H&S compliance is managed effectively through out the building and records are available and up to date.
  • UK Disaster Recovery Control Group Member with specific responsibility for procedures at BSQ.
  • Manage and Maintain Planned Preventative, reactive Maitnenacne and life cycle programmes ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Assist in the contribution and delivery of the departments business plans and management of the cost centre including approval of invoices and expenses.
  • Support UK functions in the smooth operations of external DR site where required.
  • Working with the team to ensure the highest level of customer service in FM, front of house and guest services .
  • Oversee facility refurbishment, renovations and office moves.
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships unsuring reviews are completed and performance is managed effectively.
  • Line mgrs/leaders - Actively promotes and ensures adherence to the Bank’s Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of concerns to relevant senior stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Essential: IOSH or equivalent
  • Desirable: NEBOSH, MIWFM or equivalent
  • Professional competence and/or relevant experience in Facilities Management
