Howdens Joinery are looking for an Events Manager with experience and a passion for events planning to join our team based in our Croxley office in Hertfordshire or our site in Raunds, Northamptonshire.This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage the organisation of our recognition events to celebrate current success and future aspirations of the business. This role will be responsible for the annual programme for these events to ensure they run within budget and in line with our company culture.What will I be doing as an Events Manager?- Working closely with executive and senior managers to design bespoke events including incentive trips, award dinners and regional events
- Managing and developing excellent working relationships with venues/hotels, external suppliers and other internal teams involved with events to ensure these are delivered to specification, on time and to ensure the actual expenditure is within budget
- Managing and co-ordinating the following at all major events: design and distribution of invitations, sourcing venues, sourcing and booking various entertainment, seating plans, menus
- To be present and co-ordinate event prior to senior management/guest arrival, making sure that communication and execution is to the required high standard and in line with the event brief
- Formulating and gaining acceptance for annual budgets to secure the resources necessary to achieve agreed work programmes
- Previous experience in events planning and organisation
- Confident communicator and strong influencer with the ability to respectfully challenge and be challenged at any level
- Ability to build solid working relationships both internally and externally
- Commercially astute and understand the motivating factors of a customer driven sales business
- The ability to multitask and work to the changing demands of the business
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
