Estimator - Salford Quays or Midlands based

Marlowe Fire & Security, a specialist business within Marlowe Fire and Security Group, are looking to grow their team with the appointment of an experienced Estimator, the role will be home based located in either Manchester or West Midlands.

Our Estimator’s

Will be competent in producing fast track turnaround quotations and technical responses arising from service engineer visit reports and enquiries. The primary objective of the role is to provide customers with rapid follow-up wherever quotation requirements or technical queries are raised through engineer dockets.

The post holder will escalate technical queries to the Manager and will identify improvement requirements based on the quality of the information provided by engineers via their docket submissions. The Manager will work with the Regional Service Managers to improve/up-skill the engineers based on the improvement opportunities identified by the Estimator.

  • Provision of service and minor works quotations from engineer dockets - all aspects of associated works to be identified - including access equipment, plant hire, RAMS, permits to work etc
  • Routinised quotation follow-up action
  • Provision of monthly quotation outcomes report
  • Liaison with outsourcing and specialist third party service providers where bought in service work action is required
  • Liaison with Supply Chain team to determine equipment lead times
  • Liaison with Marlowe Connect (ARC) to develop monitoring uptake and upgrade proposals
  • Maximising quotation conversion
  • Highlighting engineer improvement opportunities (technical and commercial) through the Regional Service Manager/Training Manager structure
  • Minimising customer attrition through the application of excellent customer handling and service

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

In addition to having all the usual attributes of a great Marlowe Fire & Security employee, such as; a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, well presented and professional at all times, ability to work alone and as part of a team..... For this opportunity, we are specifically looking for candidates who offer:

  • Self-motivated with strong commercial focus, familiarity with CASH for Windows or similar Service Management software
  • Confident in Excel, Word, ideally a competent Access user
  • Energetic with enthusiasm and confidence
  • Adaptable, flexible and challenge driven
  • Customer service orientated
  • Technical knowledge of product base and service delivery operation
  • Good attention to detail but high output nevertheless
