Job Title: Estates and Facilities Assistant

Accountable to: Estates and Facilities Manager

Key Relationships: Infection Control Assistant, Healthcare Assistants, Practice Nurses, Lead
Nurse Partner, Head of Corporate Services, Site Supervisors

Salary: LMP GRADE 2 – £21,057 per annum, pro rata

Job Summary:

The post holder will work a specified number of hours per week, of which early mornings and late evenings will be considered. The post holder will be responsible for the weekly and monthly stock takes at all of our sites, as well as ensuring that all sites have adequate stock and equipment for all clinics taking place during a working week. The post will also work closely with the Estates and
Facilities Managers to ensure that sufficient stock levels are maintained and that items are ordered as required.

This is a key role in the Estates and Facilities team and provides an opportunity to work across the
Lancaster Medical Practice estate.

We are also currently advertising for an Infection Control Assistant, which could be undertaken alongside this role.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Weekly vaccine count
  • Weekly and monthly data logger readings
  • Monthly clinical stocktake
  • Organising of vaccine and clinical stock for distribution
  • Ordering of some clinical stock and vaccines
  • Storing of stock upon delivery
  • Weekly date checking and stock rotation across sites to ensure efficiencies
  • Managing the central stock storage and ordering system

Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.

Health & Safety:

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others’ health, safety and security as defined in the Practice Health & Safety Policy, to include:

  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines
  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
  • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
  • Reporting potential risks identified
  • Act as Chaperone when requested by clinician and in accordance with the Chaperone policy.

Safeguarding:

Infection Control:

  • Adhere to the Practice’s infection control policies.
  • Undertake regular infection control training, as required.

  • Participate in any infection control audits, as required.

Contribution to the Implementation of Services:

The post-holder will:

  • Apply Practice policies, standards and guidance.
  • Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work.
  • Participate in audit where appropriate.

Essential Qualifications:

  • English GCSE (or equivalent) Level C or equivalent experience
  • Maths GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or equivalent experience
