Imagine stepping away from the desk and having 400 acres of beautiful forest as your office? The Grounds Services team is responsible for managing and maintaining the forest landscape at each of our villages, including wildlife and biodiversity surveys. Our expert teams are extremely passionate about the natural environment at Center Parcs, which our guests love to see.ESTATE RANGER | £10.77 per hourWorking as part of the Grounds Services department under the guidance of the Senior Rangers, you will maintain the grounds of the village in accordance with the Forestry Management Plan, Company and legislative requirements, having responsibility for your own key task areas.You will assist with the execution of all general grounds maintenance to include;
  • Routine grass cutting and maintenance of grass areas
  • Operating chain / pole saws, hedge cutters, handheld strimmer’s and leaf blowers
  • Thinning of mass vegetation on and around the lodges which involves a high level of physical manual work
  • Cleaning of paved surfaces with pressure washers
  • Operating four wheeled motorised equipment
  • Providing additional support during periods of adverse weather conditions
  • Assist the Senior Pest Control Ranger when required
HOURS OF WORKYou will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.About YouEssential requirements:
  • You will hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a recognised horticultural or forestry discipline and / or have experience within the industry
  • Driving our Ground Services vehicles onsite will be essential within this position so you must have a full clean manual Driving Licence
  • You should have a good knowledge of natural history and have an interest in nature conservation
Desirable Requirements
  • Previous experience in the use of agricultural, forestry and horticultural machinery would be an advantage, along with a certified competency in use of pesticides PA1 and 6a
  • Experience in pest control management
