Job Description

Manages and implements the overall HR strategy, governance, policies, and programs, and provides HR diligence and program implementation for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and outsourcing (MADO) transactions. For mergers and acquisitions, deploys deal teams with project management, operations, compensation and benefits, and staffing expertise to assess target companies from human capital, total rewards, and organizational structure perspectives. Works closely with HR Business Partners, Staffing, Employee Relations, HR Generalists, Strategy and Corporate Development, and external stakeholders to define the overall HR solution of an acquisition and successfully transition new employees within the predefined period. Manages the end-to-end integration process including pre-deal consultation, HR due diligence, integration strategy and planning, new employee orientations, and integration effectiveness surveys. In outsourcing transactions, ensures HR governance requirements are met and works closely with function specialists and HR Generalists to undertake due diligence and support the workforce transition. In divestitures, consults with HR Business Partners and managers to build the transition plan, outline legal requirements surrounding the transfer, and provide employee data and plan information required by acquiring company.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, leads and manages planning, design and implementation of the overall HR strategy, programs and policies for MADO transactions globally.
  • May lead Center of Expertise in one or more MADO areas
  • Actively partners with and influences clients at the SVP and VP level on a regular basis.
  • Drives strategies and initiatives at the country/regional/global/business group level by exercising some governance oversight in one or more areas (e.g., key policy decisions, requisition approval, resolution of high-impact disputes).
  • May have significant financial responsibility (e.g., budget of $1 million+ USD).
  • Leads a team of Managers and Senior Individual Contributors for a business function, and/or region by setting overall program initiatives, allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of MADO transactions.
  • Leads and directly manages multiple MADO functions, and may be responsible for significant dotted-line employee reporting relationships.
  • Develops relationships with MADO industry professionals and/or organizations in order to maintain current market trends knowledge for internal use.
Education And Experience Required
  • First-level university degree; advanced university degree in business preferred.
  • Typically 12+ years related experience in cross functional human resources areas, with significant strategic experience, including senior management influence.
  • Typically 3+ years experience in MADO and international transactions.
Knowledge And Skills
  • Strong knowledge of MADO transactions and associated HR activities in order to assess companies from human capital, total rewards and organization structure perspectives.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating and participating in the due diligence process.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong leadership and staff development skills.
  • Ability to build partnerships across various functions.
  • Strong communication skills - written, oral and presentation.
  • Ability to manage complex administrative processes concurrently.
  • Ability to effectively manage a medium budget.
  • Strong consulting skills.
