Operating Environment

Micro Focus is implementing the next generation application architecture for its lead-to-cash business operations and sales compensation. We are looking for highly driven, talented Business Data Analyst to join the Business Data Management team that is part of the Chief Data Office organization. The Business Data Analyst will work with the Functional Data Architect/ Strategist, Business Data Owner and Data Steward to define, drive implementation and provide support of Employee and Sales comp data standards and operations to MFI internal business functions. The Business Data Analyst will join a high-performance, innovative team with track record in driving business innovations through business data process simplifications and data monetization.

Responsibilities Of a Business Data Analyst Include
  • Perform data analysis to support Sales comp business operations and decisions.
  • Contribute to development of data test scenarios and cases, prepare test data in support of roll-out of the next generation Sales comp applications.
  • Trouble-shoot Sales comp related data issues.
  • Contribute to definition data quality metrics for proactive monitoring of Sales comp data.
  • Contribute to definition of data correction procedures and actions.

Education
  • Bachelors or Masters in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related technical studies.

Experience
  • 2+ years of experience with data requirement definition and analysis in operational or analytical/ BI data domains across different Business Units or Business Operations.
  • Experience with Sales comp processes and data is desired.
  • Experience in Production support to resolve critical issues and interact with teams to ensure successful resolution of the reported incident.
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL desired.
  • Proficient with Excel, Visual Basic or Access DB.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work together as a team to constantly identify opportunities for self and collective improvements.
  • Self-starter who takes initiatives. Self-learner with excellent organizational skills.
