Purpose Of The RoleHuman resource management is a key part of running a successful business. We provide practical support and solutions to businesses needing advice on issues, which arise in the workplace. As a company of professional HR consultants, ER consultants and employment law consultants, we can offer as little or as much support as is required.We have an amazing `response` team who support and advise our clients with their day-to-day HR queries by telephone and email. Queries range from dealing with sickness, family friendly requests to planning restructures and TUPE transfers. What we are looking for is an ER consultant to join our `response` team to help support our clients and provide the good quality and commercial advice that they expect from us.Our people are professional, hardworking, friendly and approachable with commercial awareness and a passion for client care. Our clients expect enthusiastic, passionate, empathetic people to look after them and solve their businesses problems.Key Tasks And ResponsibilitiesProvide commercial, professional and `can do` service: You will offer practical solutions using business expertise, HR experience and appropriate employment law knowledge. You will act as the first line of response in providing advice to clients on all ER issues within the `can do` ethos of meeting their objectives rather than telling them they `can`t/shouldn`t do that`.Be a creative thinker: You will be able to think on your feet suggesting solutions that many HR professionals may not immediately consider, they may be untested or seem a little bit `out there`, however, that is only because you`re a creative thinker, and that`s not a bad thing.Be able to write a good quality letter or report: We`d prefer it if your spelling and grammar is accurate, but if it`s not perfect, we have proof-readers who can fix that. What is essential, is that you can draft a logical investigation report or outcome letter for the client.You will have great attention to detail and high standards: You understand the importance of high standards and you will take the time to review the letter or email you`ve drafted for a client before you press send. You will also maintain clear and concise case notes on our CRM system and account for your time (billable and non-billable) on our timesheet system.You will understand that time matters: You will work hard during the working hours and understand how your efforts fit into the wider team and our bottom line, but we do know when we should take time out to have some fun.You will be able to identify opportunities: As you will get to know our clients very well, you will know when to suggest a chat with someone from the `projects` consultancy team to help them with a specific issue; whether it be suggesting training for their managers on absence management because they have higher than average absence levels or suggesting an engagement survey as they have particularly high turnover.You will accept you do not know everything: No one does and you will be happy to be supported by the rest of the team. We need a team player who is an exceptional individual. If you have read all this, you might be who we need.Skills And Experience
  • 3 years+ HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law
  • Has a broad and generalist HR technical knowledge and expertise
  • Ability to confidently speak and advise clients over the phone and sometimes in person/video call
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage confidently and build relationships
  • Have attention to detail and a passion for quality
  • Be commercial and understand that efficiency is important, but not to the detriment of quality
  • Team player

  • Can write a report/letter
  • Be honest about mistakes (we all make those)
