A job opportunity has arisen for an IT Enterprise Architect to join our exclusive client in Newport on a permanent basis. This role is based at a highly established and growing financial services organisation in Newport that are undergoing a period of change and transformation. You will work as the sole Architect in the team, leading the Architecture function as part of the wider Cloud, IT and Business Transformation. This role offers great scope for career progression plus the opportunity to work on several interesting projects.

Your new role

Reporting to the CTO, the Enterprise Architect will take responsibility for ensuring that the organisation’s business strategy achieves its goals through the appropriate architecture of its technology systems. You will develop the architecture that integrates the strategies across multiple projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with business strategies, drivers, and management priorities.

You will develop the overall enterprise architecture models, determining the technology system architecture and functional design required to support company business goals, whilst also setting the context, defining common elements, and creating patterns/standards to apply the details at a project level.

You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and executing the processes for the definition, maintenance, and management of the enterprise architecture. You will liaise with several key stakeholders, document processes using multiple architectural models, whilst updating, and maintaining the key enterprise architecture deliverables.

Furthermore, you will coordinate all enterprise architecture activities, providing architecture expertise on strategic planning actions and policy decisions, whilst assisting in aligning business and enterprise initiatives with the Enterprise Architecture.

You will also be responsible for the ongoing publicity and communication of the Enterprise Architecture within both the information technology community, and the wider organisation.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
  • Proven experience working in system architecture
  • Experience of working as an Enterprise Architect or in a similar role
  • Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in modelling and graphic representations
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Any experience in security architecture, security operations, cloud security etc., would be an advantage although it is not essential
  • If you hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject this would be an advantage
