Enhanced Support Worker

Job description
Mental Health Enhanced Support Worker, Look Ahead Care Support and Housing, Kensington and Chelsea .
Looking for a new role where you can make a difference every day? We’re looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Enhanced Support Worker to join our Mental Health service in Kensington and Chelsea.
£24,000.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week, plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

As an organisation we deliver over 110 services, providing support to around 7000 customers each year. We work across mental health, homelessness, young people and learning disabilities so there are plenty of opportunities to grow and progress your career with us.
Shift pattern:

Early: 8am - 4pm

Lates: 2.30pm - 10.30pm

Essential:
  • Highly motivated
  • Passionate and enthusiastic
Desirable:
  • NVQ level 2/3
  • At least an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care, or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years- experience in working in Mental Health or other specialist Social Care Services
  • Bring expertise in specialist areas such as dual diagnosis, substance misuse, hoarding or therapeutic interventions.
  • An understanding of care-planning processes and Models of Care within mental health
  • Knowledge of group and individual therapy
Job Overview:
As part of a team of Enhanced Support staff at the Mental Health Service, your role will focus on working closely with customers to help them build and gain their independence and meet their goals and aspirations. This involves supporting them with a range of life skills for example helping customers with budgeting, applying for benefits, meal planning or cooking, getting into work or training, or accessing external services such as addiction support.
As an Enhanced Support Worker you can be sure of one thing, no two days are the same!
Key Responsibilities:
  • To carry out holistic assessments and devise appropriate recovery focused support plans, and comprehensive risk assessments in full consultation with service-users, their families/carers and other agencies
  • To ensure recovery focused support plans are created, reviewed, evaluated and amended in accordance with changing needs, presenting risks and individual preferences in order to promote recovery
  • Undertake key working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/Service Manager
  • To be flexible and responsive to the needs of service-users as directed by their personal support plan
  • To provide recovery focused support to achieve personal goals/aspirations in partnership with service-users, family members and statutory agencies. To work with service-users on a one-to-one basis to achieve positive outcomes within the given service timeframe
  • Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’
