It’s a really great time to be joining us!English Academic Instructor - The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Academic Instructor to join our English team who will provide support to learners in the classroom under the direction of the Lecturer. You may also be required to cover classes in the absence of the LecturerIn this role, you will assist the learners and support them in their work either individually or in groups. You will work with the Lecturer and act as a second pair of eyes when assisting learners with developing their skills and work with learners who are not meeting their targets and work them to achieve.English Academic Instructor - Key Responsibilities
  • Support individual students or small groups on programmes of learning support
  • Support all students in class with their work, as directed by the classroom teacher
  • Impart subject knowledge and skills to individual students as needed
  • Team teach under the direction of the class lecturer/course leader
  • Support the development of students’ ICT skills as appropriate and record student progress and report this to the class teacher
  • Attend review meetings with course teachers and personal tutors
  • Assist some students in access arrangements for exams
English Academic Instructor - You
  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
  • A level 3 qualification in a relevant subject of the Academic Instructor role
  • Experience of working with young adults
  • Experience of delivering learning support
