The Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for a Rail Engineering Technician to provide drawing/modelling/BIM support to the Lineside Civils Team in Bristol.

The role will require you to prepare quality CAD models and drawings, using Bentley MicroStation, you will also produce BIM and document management tasks using Projectwise. Working to defined (often Network Rail) BIM/CAD Standards.
Other duties will include;

  • Lineside/ancillary civils design items on multi-discipline rail projects (including signalling and lineside structures)
  • Working with a Senior Engineer/CRE and BIM Manager
  • Possibly mentoring/delegating to an Apprentice
  • Ability to work remotely when required

To achieve in this role you will have…

  • Qualifications in Engineering, draughting or CAD would be an advantage
  • Be fully conversant in MicroStation software with the ability to check the quality and accuracy of your own work and others, ensuring outputs meet the required standards
  • Managed work on a range of projects; ensuring deadlines are met and experience of project and team administrative duties and document control
  • Experience of contributing to project related correspondence and reports, Proven success in contributing to a team oriented environment
  • Motivation and willingness to take on new challenges and possibly go the extra mile to satisfy the client and project demands, able to work directly with our Clients, if required
