Based in North Manchester, our client is an established and expanding engineering business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Trainer, Teacher or Lecturer that may have started their career in a hands-on electrical or mechanical engineering role that would like to share their experience and expertise in a practical commercial environment.

This is an office-based role working Monday to Friday, however there will be a requirement for the post holder to travel internationally up to 50% of their time, when required to conduct learning courses at customer sites.

THE JOB:

Reporting to the Service Manager, as Engineering Technical Trainer your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and conducting courses for customers with classroom sessions and hands-on sessions.
  • Producing the necessary documentation for the courses.
  • Managing qualifying training courses for the customer’s staff.
  • Interfacing with the central technical office to receive the information and updates necessary for training on the technology of the equipment.
  • Conducting courses for technicians (field technicians, sales team, technical support team) with classroom sessions and hands-on sessions.
  • Participating in the development of skills on the technical aspects of the equipment.
  • Develop online training modules (eLearning, webinars and videos).
  • Providing online training courses (class and streaming).
  • Integrating the skills and knowledge with technicians engaged on other product lines, to develop transversal skills.
  • Training management on learning platforms.

THE PERSON:

  • The ability to teach /direct others.
  • Fluent written and oral English, a second language would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to listen.
  • Excellent familiarity with the use of the Office package.
  • The availability/flexibility for foreign transfers up to 50% of the time.
