Engineering Project Manager

Your role with us

Will be to manage a range of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to budget and to the agreed quality standard. You will ensure the project is effectively resourced and will manage the relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will also be responsible for managing the work of consultants, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful project team.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Extensive experience in engineering in either electrical or mechanical discipline including experience with industrial control (PLC) software modifications would be advantageous.
  • Strong technical understanding of the associated design issues of electrical / mechanical engineering. In particular, a thorough knowledge of BS EN 13849 – Safety of Machinery, Safety Related Parts of Control Systems and BS EB 61511 – Functional Safety of Instrumented Control Systems
  • Extensive experience in project management and project planning ideally supported by APMP or PRINCE 2 qualifications.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams to ensure risks are mitigated and responded to quickly where difficulties arise or new risks are introduced.
  • Experience in use of hazardous operation assessment techniques to ensure that the final design meets all necessary legislative and regulatory requirements

We are looking for people who are:

  • Able to implement appropriate systems to monitor and regularly review SHE performance in your project team.
  • Experienced in leading the electrical / mechanical design of process controls systems, ensuring that the final agreed design meets the legislative compliance requirements of the machinery directive
  • Able to act as lead engineer on safety related electrical / mechanical projects with the ability to review and challenge external contractors and competent design authorities to ensure compliance with all associated legislative regulation.
  • Experienced in providing electrical/ mechanical design support relating to safety instrumented systems. In particular, a thorough knowledge of BS EN 13849 – Safety of Machinery, Safety Related Parts of Control Systems and BS EN 61511 – Functional Safety of Instrumented Control Systems.
